Tierra Verde
About Tierra Verde
Modern development of the islands began in the early 1960s with the founding of the community association and the construction of a bridge which allowed for easier resident and visitor access. Property sales greatly increased after the construction of the Pinellas Bayway in 1984.
Today, Tierra Verde consists of 667 acres of beautiful green islands with waterways which were engineered so the Gulf of Mexico’s tides help keep them clean. There are now approximately 2,000 single-family and multi-family structures on Tierra Verde and a many businesses that are supported by its residents.
Residents can fish the local waters or enter the Gulf of Mexico in minutes by boat. World famous Fort De Soto Park offers visitors exploration of its old fort or beautiful beaches to sun and play on. There are picnic areas with grills and towering oaks and a boat launch that lead to the Gulf and Egmont Key, Tampa’s Harbor Mater Station.
Tierra Verde is an island oasis tucked away in a pristine and prime location, allowing residents a short drive to downtown St. Petersburg or an easy 25 minute drive to Tampa International Airport.
